
I am cheating on my new diet, The Gravy Diet. In order to lose lots of weight without exercising, I can only eat gravy and nothing else. Yet here I am having not only braised mushroom gravy, but also the braised mushrooms and chicken and hor fun and sambal chilli and wan ton.
This bowl of Ipoh Hor Fun is from the Kopitiam at IMM. The savory gravy is the star being thick and rich with sambal chilli for extra oomph. The wan ton is a delight too, made with fresh prawns, mince pork and crunchy cloud ear fungus. If not for the a tad too starchy hor fun, this Singaporean Ipoh Hor Fun will be almost as good as the ones I have tasted in Ipoh, Malaysia.
