Goodbye Grandma
Your life might be simple but it was well lived. We are all going to miss you.

Long time no woof. Liang Liang here doing my bit for charity. Please help stray and abandoned animals by buying the Animal Lovers League 2007 calendar. Each calendar costs S$10 and proceeds help sustain a no kill shelter that houses over 500 cats and 200 dogs.
The calendar is really cool because it has interchangeable heads and tails, in the shape of a dog or cat. Each individual month of the card can also be used as a postcard after the month is over. You can also personalise the calendar by decorating the paper carton frame.
Here is me with the calendar decorated by The Slave. Not bad looking considering she failed art in school. Woof!
Hello, it's me, LL, on Chinese New Year greeting duty again. The slave had decided that like last year, I should have a festive photograph taken. You would think that it being the year of the dog, I would have more say. No such luck for me. The slave did not want me to pose with mandarin oranges since I pounced on them. I was caught peeing on the potted plants so I was forbidden from going near those too. In the end, I had to take my photograph with a stupid paper bag. To protest the indignity of it, I sulked throughout the photography session.
Being a responsible canine, I will still do what the slave wants me to do. I wish everyone a prosperous Chinese New Year. Woof woof!
祝大家新年快乐,狗年旺旺
A day at the beach and in LL's case, it is really on the beach. The cowardly dog will not go swimming in the sea. Go see what other dogs are doing at Sweetnicks.
Happy Birthday, poochie. Now get off my bed!
"Brits regard the best response to outrage to carry on as if nothing has happened. Yes, they will fight back. But first, they will just carry on as normal. Right now, a million kettles are boiling."
Andrew Sullivan
I am going to boil my kettle and have a cuppa. A salute to the brave British people who remain stoic in face of the London terror attack.
I was very slow to this music meme thing what with traveling, Lunar New Year and other distractions like the latest season of American Idol and CSI, I was paying less attention to my favourite food blogs. When I finally caught on, I started wondering why no one had tap me. Sob..... Then I thought maybe it was a good thing I was not tapped. What if people were to laugh at my music preferences or worst, figure out how old I really am!
Thanks to Renee (or is it no thanks?), I now have the chance to do this, so here we go:
What is the total amount of music files on your computer?
A modest 4GB.
Some from questionable sources
The CD you last bought?
The Great Leap 2005 太平盛世 by David Tao 陶吉吉
Am I considered a fan if I own all of this guy's albums and know almost all the songs?
What was the last song you listened to before reading this message?
Danger! High Voltage by Electric Six
I watched Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle while waiting for my bread dough to rise and this song from the soundtrack stuck in my mind.
Write down five songs that you often listen to or that mean a lot to you.
1. Somewhere Over the Rainbow/Wonderful World by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
2. Don't Dream It's Over by Crowded House
3. If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys featuring Usher
4. Itsumo Nandodemo by Kimura Yumi
(theme song of the movie Spirited Away, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi)
5. Close To You 天天 by David Tao 陶吉吉
Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?
This meme will end with me unless not passing the stick will doom me to have nothing to listen to except Jessica Simpson
though I don't think anyone can be that cruel to wish that upon me.
Woof woof. I am Liang Liang aka LL. ST, my human slave is too busy running errands and preparing for the coming Chinese New Year. Serves her right for abandoning me and going abroad for a week. She now has no time to get her hair cut, her nails done or go for a facial. She will be most unkempt for the New Year celebrations while I am white and fluffy and nice smelling after a trip to the chi chi dog groomer which the slave claims cost more than her own hair stylist. Yes, I know she has promised to post about the China trip but she has not sort through the photographs. She promised to bring me to the park too, yet here I am, stuck at home, posing for photographs with mandarin oranges.
Being a dog of many talents, I have taken some time off from my other activities like eating grass, chasing birds and quarreling with that mangy mongrel next door to blog on ST's behalf. Here's wishing everyone xin nian kuai le 新年快乐, gong xi fa cai 恭喜发财 and it being the year of the rooster, ji nian xing da yun 鸡年行大运!
PS: No Mandarin oranges are hurt in the taking of this photograph. OK, I bite one but I swear that stupid fruit started it by squirting me with juice.
I am back from China. It has been a wonderful and fruitful trip but home is still my favourite destination. Hello computer, hello dog, hello friends and most importantly, hello bed! So let me get some much needed beauty sleep. Photos and writings to follow later.
Off to Shantou 汕头 and Chaozhou 潮州 in China with the father to visit the relatives. I am expecting lots of food. At the very least, let's just hope that the father and I do not drive each other crazy. See you all in seven days!
